The purpose of preventive maintenance is to keep your HVAC system up and running, reliably and efficiently all season long.

1: check air filter - the air flow to your HVAC unit is very important and air filters should be changed regularly. 2: check circuit breakers - if the breaker to your HVAC unit has been tripped, reset the breaker. Just keep in mind that breakers trip for safety reasons. 3: check the power switch - local code says there must be an on-off switch next to the indoor unit. 4: check batteries on thermostat - some thermostat need batteries changed out regularly for them to properly work. 5: check air vents - the restriction of air can cause the HVAC system to malfunction.

You’ll know your old HVAC system is ready to call it quits when you notice it's running for longer periods more often, always breaking down or it’s making a lot of noise.
